The Latest Mikey Network News

Just imagine being in a continuous line of motorcycles that can span as long as 4km, as police close down intersections and roadways to make room for this line of rolling thunder.  In 2006, the tradition was born in Canada that was inspired by the police-escorted charity motorcycle ride held in the U.S. after September 11th.

This year, about 200 police officers, fire fighters and citizens, took off on their motorcycles from Toronto’s Woodbine Racetrack on Saturday morning for a two-day charity ride.  We are honoured to be one of the beneficiaries of this incredible annual event.

The 7th annual Canada’s 911 Foundation charity ride raised $32,000 for The Mikey Network.

We are humbled by the generosity of these true heros.

Global TV News aired a story about a family who received a “MIKEY” (Automatic External Defibrillator) through our Mikey’s Kids program.

The six year old boy has a condition called Long QT Syndrome and without his MIKEY close at hand, it would be too dangerous for him to enjoy many of the activities that most kids take for granted.

Through the Mikey’s Kid’s program, we supply MIKEYS and training to families whose children have serious heart conditions so they and their families can leave the hospital knowing that a MIKEY is at hand should their heart happen to skip a beat.

SAVE THE DATE! The 2012 Walk of Life is May 27, 2012

More details coming soon, but mark your calendars because you won’t want to miss out on the fun!

Here’s what happened last year …

We want to thank all of the members of Team Mikey for making The Walk of Life 2011 a Huge Success!

We talked the talk, and we walked the walk!   Over 300 Team Mikey participants walked, jogged or wheeled their way across the finish line on May 14th.

Team Mikey contributed more than $140,000  to the Walk of Life in proud support of the Canadian Health Foundation of Canada.

It was great to see all the Team Mikey supporters and their families enjoying the day.  Even the weather cooperated as the rain held off until the end of the walk.

Thank you to all that participated in this year’s Walk of Life, and see you next year!
