The Cardiac Arrhythmia Network of Canada (CANet) recently published a wonderful write up of our work on their website.
After hearing a commercial for TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® Canada on the radio talking about our Mikey On Board program, they wanted to learn more about us and share that knowledge with their network. They wrote not only about Mikey On Board and the history of our organization, but they also profiled our many other programs that provide defibrillators to public spaces, organizations, and families in need.
Check out this excerpt below:
Listening to a Blue Jays game the other day (which in itself can give one arrhythmia), a commercial for a moving company caught my ear. It was notable because they weren’t talking about moving furniture – they were explaining that every one of their trucks is equipped with a “MIKEY”.
“There are 75 vehicles equipped with a MIKEY, and the employees are trained in how to use them,” explains Morty Henkle, Executive Director of The Mikey Network. “And each truck has a sticker on the back, identifying that there is an AED on board.” This means that not only are the movers given peace of mind knowing that an AED is nearby, but that this fleet of trucks is identifiable as a source of help in the community in the event of a sudden cardiac arrest emergency.

Thank you CANet for such a wonderful write up! We appreciate you taking the time to educate the members of your network about The Mikey Network and Mikey On Board.
